Righteousness brings blessings every time,
Proverbs 28 is oh so divine!
The wicked flee when no one pursues,
But the righteous are bold, with nothing to lose.
The poor and the rich meet together,
But the Lord watches over them both forever.
A ruler who oppresses the poor,
Is like a driving rain that will not endure.
Those who flatter their neighbors,
Are spreading lies and doing favors.
He who rebukes a person will gain more,
Than one who flatters with words to adore.
Whoever robs their father or mother,
Is a partner with a thief as another.
The greedy stir up strife and fight,
But those who trust in the Lord have delight.
A faithful man will abound with blessings,
But he who hastens to be rich will face stressings.
To show partiality is not good,
Even for a piece of bread, it’s not understood.
He who walks blamelessly will be saved,
But he who is perverse, will be enslaved.
The rich man is wise in his own eyes,
But the poor who has understanding, is truly wise.
When the righteous rejoice, there is great glory,
But when the wicked rise, men hide in worry.
He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will be a conqueror.
Happy is the man who always fears,
But he who hardens his heart will face many tears.
He who trusts in his own heart is a fool,
But whoever walks wisely will be cool.
