“Lessons for life, in 26s: Proverbs wise!” (Proverbs 26 Inspiration Rhyme)

Lessons for life, in 26s: Proverbs wise!
To guide our hearts and open our eyes.

Like snow in summer, and rain in harvest,
So honor for a fool is just the hardest.

A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey,
And a rod for the back of the one who’s cranky.

Answer not a fool according to his folly,
Lest you be like him, and end up jolly.

Answer a fool according to his foolishness,
Lest he think himself wise, and cause more mess.

The sluggard says, “There’s a lion in the way,”
But really he just wants to sleep all day.

The door turns on its hinges, so the lazy
Turns in bed, again and again, driving us crazy!

The sluggard hides his hand in the dish,
But won’t bring it back up, even if he wishes.

The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes
Than seven men who can give advice.

Like one who grabs a dog’s tail is he,
Who meddles in a fight, and thinks he’s free.

Saying, “I was only joking,” is like
Brandishing a deadly weapon for a strike.

Without wood, the fire will die,
And without a whisperer, arguments will fly.

As charcoal to embers, and wood to fire,
So is a contentious man in his desire.

The words of a whisperer are like tasty morsels,
But they go down like poison in the apostles.

The lazy man says, “There’s a lion outside!”
But really, he’s just using it to hide.

The wicked man lies in wait to shed blood,
But he’ll be caught in the trap of his own mud.

Folly is bound up in the heart of a child,
But the rod of correction makes him mild.

He who sends a message by the hand of a fool,
Will be disappointed, and feel like a mule.

Like legs that hang limp is a proverb
In the mouth of a fool, too absurd.

Like tying a stone to a slingshot is he,
Who gives honor to a fool, can’t you see?

Like breaking teeth, and a foot out of joint,
Is trusting a deceiver, and finding no point.

Like vinegar to the teeth, and smoke to the eyes,
So is the lazy man to his employer’s prize.

The fear of man brings a snare,
But he who trusts in the Lord won’t despair.

Like a fluttering sparrow, or a flying swallow,
A curse without cause won’t ever follow.

A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey,
And a rod for fools who are oh so chunky.
