Introduction:

Lesson:

Jesus showed us the ultimate example of sacrificial love when he died on the cross for our sins. He loved us so much that he was willing to give up his life to save us. This kind of love is selfless and goes beyond just doing nice things for others. It is about putting others before ourselves and being willing to make sacrifices for their well-being.

Just like Jesus showed us sacrificial love, we should also show love to others in the same way. This means being kind, caring, and willing to help others, even if it means giving up something that we want. Whether it’s sharing our toys, helping a friend in need, or being patient with someone who is difficult to love, we can show God’s love through our actions.

Craft Activity:
To help us remember the lesson about sacrificial love, let’s make a craft together. Let’s create a heart-shaped symbol with the words “Sacrificial Love” written on it. You can decorate it with stickers, glitter, or anything else you like to make it special. This heart can remind us to show love to others just like Jesus showed love to us.

Illustration:
Begin by showing the plush toy or stuffed animal to the children and explain that it represents someone they love very much, like a friend or a family member. Then, explain that sacrificing means giving up something important or special for someone else.

Hold up the small wrapped gift and explain that it represents something valuable or important to them. Ask the children what they would be willing to give up for their loved one, such as a favorite toy or treat.
