Title: Jesus and the significance of the Feast of Unleavened Bread

Hello, young friends! Today we are going to learn about a special feast called the Feast of Unleavened Bread and why it is important to us as Christians.

The Feast of Unleavened Bread was a special time for the people of Israel to remember how God delivered them from slavery in Egypt. They would eat bread without yeast, or leaven, during this time to remember how they had to leave Egypt in a hurry and didn’t have time for their bread to rise.

But did you know that the Feast of Unleavened Bread also has special meaning for us as Christians? It reminds us of how Jesus, our Savior, gave His life for us so that we can be free from sin and death.

Just like the Israelites had to leave Egypt in a hurry, Jesus gave His life for us so that we could be set free from sin and have eternal life with Him. When we accept Jesus into our hearts and ask for His forgiveness, we are cleansed from our sin, just like the bread without leaven.

So next time you hear about the Feast of Unleavened Bread, remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for us and how He gives us new life and freedom from sin. Let’s thank Him for His love and grace in our lives!

Let’s pray: Dear Jesus, thank you for giving your life for us so that we can be free from sin. Help us to remember your sacrifice and to live our lives in a way that honors you. Amen.

I hope you learned something new today, young friends! Remember that Jesus loves you and is always with you. Have a blessed day!

Title: Jesus and the Feast of Unleavened Bread

Props Needed:
1. Loaf of bread
2. Container of yeast
3. Crucifix or picture of Jesus on the cross
4. Matzo bread or unleavened crackers

Illustration Presentation:
Step 1: Begin by introducing the Feast of Unleavened Bread and explaining its significance in the Bible as a reminder of the Israelites’ hasty departure from Egypt.

Step 2: Show the loaf of bread and the container of yeast to represent leaven, which is a symbol of sin in the Bible. Explain that during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, leavened bread is not allowed as a way of symbolizing the removal of sin from our lives.

Step 3: Hold up the crucifix or picture of Jesus on the cross and explain that Jesus sacrificed himself as the ultimate unblemished offering to atone for our sins. Just as the Israelites had to remove leaven from their homes during the feast, Jesus removed sin from our lives through his sacrifice.

Step 4: Finally, present the Matzo bread or unleavened crackers as a symbol of Jesus, the sinless and unleavened bread of life. Explain that by accepting Jesus into our hearts, we can be made clean and free from sin, just as the Israelites were cleansed during the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

Through this illustration, children can understand the significance of the Feast of Unleavened Bread and how it points to Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.
