Doing Your Best for Jesus

Possible Viewpont: Evangelical Christian

Title: Doing Your Best for Jesus

Introduction:
Hello, boys and girls! Today, we are going to learn about how we can do our best for Jesus. In Ephesians 6:7, it says, “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.” This means that when we do our best, we are actually doing it for Jesus!

Lesson:
1. Serving Wholeheartedly: When we do something, whether it’s helping our parents, being kind to our friends, or doing our schoolwork, we should do it with all our heart. We should always remember that we are serving Jesus when we serve others.

2. Doing it for Jesus: The Bible tells us that when we love and serve others, it’s like we are loving and serving Jesus himself. So, when we help someone or do our best, we are actually doing it for Jesus.

3. The Joy of Doing Our Best: When we do our best for Jesus, it brings us joy and happiness. Jesus loves it when we do things with all our heart and when we do it for Him, we can feel His love and joy in our hearts.

Conclusion:
Remember, boys and girls, when we do our best for Jesus, we are showing our love for Him and serving Him with all our heart. Let’s try to do everything we do with joy and love, knowing that it pleases Jesus. He will always be with us, helping us to do our best for Him!

Script:
Today, we are going to learn about doing our best for Jesus. In the Bible, in the book of Ephesians chapter 6, verse 7, it says, “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.” This means that whatever we do, we should do it with all our hearts, as if we are doing it for Jesus himself.

To help us understand this, we are going to do a fun activity. I have some coloring pages, and I want each of you to pick a page and color it using your crayons or colored pencils. While you’re coloring, I want you to think about how you can do your best to make it beautiful, just like how we should do our best for Jesus.

After you have finished coloring, you can use the stickers or glitter glue to add some special touches to your masterpiece. When you’re done, you can show everyone your artwork.

Now, let’s look at the cardboard cutouts. This big hand with a thumbs up represents doing our best for Jesus and making him proud. This small hand with a thumbs down represents not doing our best and not making Jesus happy. This smiling face represents doing our best with a happy heart, and this frowning face represents not doing our best with a sad heart.

As we look at our artwork, think about whether you did your best for Jesus. If you did, hold up the big hand with a thumbs up and the smiling face. If you think you could have done better, hold up the small hand with a thumbs down and the frowning face.

Remember, no matter what we do, let’s always do our best for Jesus. He loves us and wants us to give our all in everything we do. Thank you for joining in on this activity today!

Craft Idea

Craft: Armor of God Shield

Supplies:
– Paper plate
– Crayons or markers
– Scissors
– Glue
– Construction paper (optional)

Instructions:
1. Begin by discussing with the children the lesson on ‘Doing Your Best for Jesus’ and the importance of putting on the full armor of God, as mentioned in Ephesians 6:7. Explain that just as a soldier needs to be fully equipped for battle, we also need to be equipped with the armor of God to do our best for Jesus.

2. Give each child a paper plate and have them decorate it to resemble a shield using crayons or markers. Encourage them to be creative and include designs that remind them of God’s protection and the armor of God.

3. Once the shields are decorated, help the children cut out a small strip of construction paper to create a handle for the shield. Glue the handle to the back of the paper plate so that the children can hold their shields.

4. As the children work on their shields, continue to discuss the different pieces of the armor of God mentioned in Ephesians 6:10-18, such as the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the belt of truth, the shoes of peace, and the sword of the Spirit.

5. Finally, have the children hold up their completed shields and pray together, asking God to help them do their best for Jesus by putting on the full armor of God every day.

This simple craft will help reinforce the lesson on ‘Doing Your Best for Jesus’ and serve as a tangible reminder for the children to put on the armor of God in their daily lives.
