Florida Man Moses Meets Blaze at Beach: Burning Bush

It was a hot, humid day in Miami and Florida Man Moses was strolling along the beach, minding his own business, when he saw a strange sight. A bush was on fire, but it wasn’t burning up!

"Yo, dude, that bush is on fire!" exclaimed Florida Man Moses. He quickly walked over to check out the curious scene.

As he got closer, he heard a voice coming from the bush. "Moses, Moses," the voice called out.

"Whoa, man! That bush is talking to me!" Florida Man Moses exclaimed. He was starting to feel a bit worried, but also very curious.

The voice continued, "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground."

Florida Man Moses obeyed, feeling a bit self-conscious as he kicked off his sandals and stepped onto the hot sand.

The voice spoke again, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."

Florida Man Moses was amazed. Was he really talking to God? "Why me, dude?" he asked.

The voice replied, "I have seen the misery of my people in Egypt, and I have come down to rescue them. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt."

Florida Man Moses was stunned. He had never been a leader before. But he knew he had to do what God was asking of him.

"I’ll do it, man," he said. "But how will they know that I’m legit?"

God replied, "I will be with you. And when you bring the people out of Egypt, you will worship me on this mountain."

With that, the burning bush began to fade away. Florida Man Moses put on his sandals and went back to his life, knowing that he had an important task ahead of him.

Conclusion

As humorous as this Florida Man version of the story may be, the original story in the Bible is a powerful account of God’s call on Moses’ life. In Exodus 3:14, God reveals his name to Moses as "I AM WHO I AM." This name signifies God’s eternal nature and his authority over all things. We can learn from this story that God can use anyone, no matter where they come from or what their background is. And if we are willing to obey his call, he will be with us every step of the way. So read the actual story in the Bible and see how God used Moses to lead his people out of slavery and into freedom.
