Florida Man: Cupbearer and Baker Serve Up Trouble

Once upon a time in Florida, there were two men who served Pharaoh himself. The first was the cupbearer, who was always seen with a tall glass of ice-cold lemonade with a slice of orange on top. The second was the baker, who always had the most delicious smelling pastries.

One day, the cupbearer and the baker both found themselves in trouble with Pharaoh. The cupbearer had accidentally put a lemon seed in Pharaoh’s lemonade, while the baker’s pastry had caused a severe case of food poisoning in the palace.

In an effort to redeem themselves, the cupbearer and the baker decided to team up and make a special dessert for Pharaoh’s upcoming birthday. They worked tirelessly in the kitchen, mixing together all sorts of ingredients to create the perfect cake.

However, when the cake was presented to Pharaoh, it was a disaster. The cupbearer had accidentally spilled salt instead of sugar into the mix, and the baker had overcooked the cake. Pharaoh was not pleased, and the two men were sentenced to spend time in jail.

While in jail, the cupbearer and the baker both had strange dreams. The cupbearer dreamt of a vine with three branches, which he squeezed into Pharaoh’s cup. The baker dreamt of baskets filled with baked goods, with birds eating from them.

When they woke up, they were confused and unsure of what their dreams meant. Fortunately, a fellow inmate who had been released and had become a prominent official in Pharaoh’s court was able to interpret their dreams. The cupbearer was told that he would be restored to his former position, while the baker was informed that he would be put to death.

And so it was. The cupbearer was restored to his position and the baker was executed, just as the dreams had foretold.

Conclusion

As we can see from this hilarious Florida Man story, even those in high positions can make mistakes. However, we see God’s hand at work in the dreams of the cupbearer and the baker. It is important to always trust in God, even in the darkest of situations. We can find this same principle in Proverbs 3:5-6, which says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." So if you want to see how the story of the cupbearer and the baker really goes, be sure to check it out in Genesis 40.
