Florida Man Joseph sold by brothers, becomes ruler
In the land of Canaan, there lived a Florida Man named Joseph who had a coat of many colors. He was a bit of a show-off, always flaunting his flashy wardrobe in front of his brothers. One day, his brothers had enough of his shenanigans and decided to sell him off to some passing merchants for a few bucks.
The merchants took Joseph to Egypt, where he was sold to Potiphar, a high-ranking official in the Pharaoh’s court. Joseph quickly rose through the ranks, impressing Potiphar with his wit and charm. But things took a turn for the worse when Potiphar’s wife set her sights on Joseph and tried to seduce him.
Being a respectable Florida Man, Joseph refused her advances and Potiphar’s wife falsely accused him of trying to assault her. Poor Joseph was thrown into prison, but even there, his Florida Man charm didn’t desert him. He made friends with the prison warden and soon became known for his ability to interpret dreams.
One day, Pharaoh himself had a dream that he couldn’t interpret, and Joseph was called upon to help. Joseph told Pharaoh that his dream meant that there would be seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine. Impressed, Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of storing up grain for the coming famine.
Thanks to Joseph’s Florida Man ingenuity, Egypt was able to survive the famine and even had enough to sell to neighboring countries. Eventually, Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt to buy grain, not realizing that the man in charge was their long-lost brother. After a few twists and turns, Joseph revealed his identity and forgave his brothers for selling him into slavery.
In the end, Joseph became one of the most powerful men in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh himself. He was able to use his position to help his family during the famine and set the stage for the eventual Israelite exodus from Egypt.
As the Bible verse in Genesis 50:20 says, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." Even though Joseph’s brothers meant to harm him, God used Joseph’s Florida Man antics to save countless lives and bring about his ultimate purpose.
