How Catholics and Evangelicals view Faith

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Catholic view on Faith
The Catholic view on faith emphasizes the importance of both faith and works for salvation. Catholics believe that faith is a gift from God that enables us to believe in him and trust in his promises. It is this faith that leads us to good works and obedience to God’s commands. Catholics also believe in the importance of belonging to the Church, receiving the sacraments, and following the teachings of the Church.

Evangelical view on Faith
The evangelical view on faith emphasizes the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through faith alone. Evangelicals believe that salvation comes through faith in Christ alone, not by works or any other means. They also emphasize the need to share the Gospel with others and make disciples, as well as the importance of living a holy and obedient life through the power of the Holy Spirit. Evangelicals typically place less emphasis on the role of the Church and sacraments in salvation.
