The people were so terrified that they begged Moses to speak with God on their behalf. This event shows the power and might of God as He made His presence known to His people.
2. The Earthquake in Philippi – Acts 16:22-34: This story tells the account of the Apostle Paul and his companion Silas as they were imprisoned in Philippi. As they were singing hymns and praising God in the middle of the night, there was a great earthquake, and the doors of the prison were jolted open, breaking their chains. This led the jailer to become a believer in Jesus Christ, along with his whole family.
3. The Earthquake in Jerusalem – Matthew 27:50-54: This story tells the account of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. As He hung on the cross, there was a great earthquake, and the veil in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. This event signified that the barrier between God and humanity had been removed through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, making a way for us to be reconciled to God.
4. The Earthquake in Revelation – Revelation 11:13-19: This story tells the account of the final judgments of God upon the earth. As the seventh and final trumpet is sounded, there is a great earthquake, and thunder and lightning fill the sky. This event signifies the end of the age and the return of Christ to establish His kingdom on earth.
