2. The Earthquake in Philippi – Acts 16:22-34: This story tells the account of the Apostle Paul and his companion Silas as they were imprisoned in Philippi. As they were singing hymns and praising God in the middle of the night, there was a great earthquake, and the doors of the prison were jolted open, breaking their chains. This led the jailer to become a believer in Jesus Christ, along with his whole family.
3. The Earthquake in Jerusalem – Matthew 27:50-54: This story tells the account of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. As He hung on the cross, there was a great earthquake, and the veil in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. This event signified that the barrier between God and humanity had been removed through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, making a way for us to be reconciled to God.
