The Nature of Faith
Hebrews 11:1 — Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Romans 10:17 — Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:7 — For we live by faith, not by sight.
Faith and Salvation
Ephesians 2:8 — For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
John 3:16 — For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Galatians 2:16 — know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
Faith in Action
James 2:17 — In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
Matthew 17:20 — He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Hebrews 11:6 — And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Encouragement to Keep Faith
2 Timothy 4:7 — I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Romans 1:17 — For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
Psalm 46:10 — He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
