God's Love for Us
John 3:16 — For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 — But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
1 John 4:9 — This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
Ephesians 2:4-5 — But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
Loving One Another
John 13:34 — A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
1 John 4:7 — Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
Romans 13:10 — Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 — Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love as a Commandment and Fruit
Matthew 22:37-39 — Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Galatians 5:22 — But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Colossians 3:14 — And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
1 Peter 4:8 — Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
