Brief Summary of the Bible Book of Haggai
Haggai is a short book in the Old Testament that consists of only two chapters. It is a prophetic book that provides insight into the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile. The book encourages the people of Judah to rebuild the temple and to turn their hearts back to God. Haggai also contains prophecies about the future redemption of God’s people.

Chapter 1
God rebukes the people for neglecting the temple. He encourages them to rebuild it. "Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple" (Haggai 1:8).
Chapter 2
God promises to bless the people if they rebuild the temple. He also foretells of a future shaking of the heavens and the earth. "The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former" (Haggai 2:9).
