Title: Understanding the Resurrection and Life After Death

Bible Verse: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

Lesson:

Hello young children, today we will be talking about a very important topic – Death. Death can be scary and mysterious, but as Christians, we believe that when we die, we will go to be with Jesus in heaven. Let’s learn more about what happens after we die and how we can have eternal life.

Firstly, let’s talk about the Resurrection – this is when Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead on the third day. This gives us hope because it shows that even though we may die, we can also rise again, just as Jesus did. We believe that one day, when Jesus comes back, all those who have died will rise up out of their graves and be reunited with their bodies once again.

Now, let’s talk about what happens to us when we die. As Christians, we believe that our souls go to be with Jesus in heaven. This means that we can be joyful and happy, knowing that we will be in the presence of our Heavenly Father forever. We don’t have to be afraid of death, because we know that we are going to a better place.

But how can we be sure that we will go to heaven after we die? The answer is simple – we must believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. This means that we acknowledge that we are sinners, but we also believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and if we accept Him into our hearts, we will have eternal life with Him in heaven.

So, let’s remember that even though death can be scary, as Christians, we have hope and faith in the Resurrection and eternal life. We can look forward to being with Jesus in heaven someday, and until then, let’s live our lives for Him and share His love with others.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the hope and peace that we have in Jesus Christ. Help us to remember that even though death can be scary, we don’t have to be afraid because we have the promise of eternal life with You. Help us to share Your love with others and be a light in this world. Amen.

Title: The Butterfly and the Cocoon- Understanding Resurrection and Life After Death

Props:
– A live butterfly (can be purchased at a pet store or online)
– A small transparent container with a lid
– A leaf for the butterfly to eat
– A small cocoon (can be purchased at a craft store or online)

Presentation:
1. Begin by showing the butterfly to the children and explain that it was once a caterpillar that lived on the earth.
2. Ask the children if they know what happened to the caterpillar after it turned into a butterfly.
3. Introduce the concept of death and explain that just like the caterpillar, everyone and everything will eventually die.
4. Show the children the small transparent container and explain that it is like a home for the butterfly where it can live, eat, and rest.
5. Place the leaf inside the container and then gently place the butterfly inside as well. Close the lid and explain that the butterfly is safe and protected inside the container.
6. Hold up the small cocoon and ask the children if they know what it is. Explain that it is where a caterpillar goes to transform into a butterfly.
7. Explain that just like the caterpillar goes into the cocoon to transform and be resurrected as a butterfly, we too will experience a resurrection and life after death.
8. Place the cocoon next to the container and explain that it represents us going to be with God after we die.
9. Close the lesson by reminding the children that just like the butterfly is safe in its container, we too can find comfort and safety in God’s love and care even after we die.

Note: It is important to handle the butterfly gently and ensure that it is healthy and not stressed during the presentation.
