Title: Standing Up for What’s Right
Introduction:
Hello, friends! Today we are going to talk about something very important: standing up for what is right. Sometimes, we might feel like we need to "fight" for what is right, but it does not mean we use our fists or get angry. Instead, we use our hearts, our voices, and our actions to show love and kindness!
-
Understanding Right and Wrong:
Let’s start by talking about what is right and what is wrong. Who knows what it means to do the right thing? That’s right! Doing the right thing means treating others with kindness, sharing, helping our friends, and being honest. The Bible teaches us in Micah 6:8 that God wants us to do what is right, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him. -
Examples from the Bible:
There are many stories in the Bible about people who stood up for what was right. One of those stories is about a young boy named David. When David saw that a giant named Goliath was bullying his people, he didn’t run away. He stood up and said, "I will fight him!" David used his faith in God to defeat Goliath, not just with a weapon, but by trusting that God was with him.
Another example is Queen Esther. She was very brave and spoke up for her people when they were in danger, even though it was scary. Esther showed us that we should stand up for others and do what is right, even when it is hard.
- How Can We Stand Up for What’s Right?
Now, let’s think about how we can stand up for what’s right in our own lives:
- Be Kind: If we see someone being bullied, we can be a friend to them and help them feel better.
- Use Our Words: If we hear someone saying something unkind or unfair, we can speak up and say, “That’s not nice!” or “That’s not fair!”
- Help Others: If we see someone who needs help, whether it’s a friend or someone we don’t know, we can step in and lend a hand.
-
Remembering God’s Love:
It’s important to know that when we stand up for what is right, we are not alone. God is with us! In Joshua 1:9, the Bible says, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." This means that when we choose to do good things, God gives us strength and courage! -
Activity: "Stand Up for Kindness"
Let’s make a "Stand Up for Kindness" poster together! We can write down or draw pictures of kind things we can do for others. Maybe it’s sharing toys, helping a friend when they are sad, or saying something nice to someone.
Conclusion:
As we finish our lesson today, let’s remember that standing up for what’s right doesn’t mean using our fists; it means using our hearts. Let’s pray for courage and kindness to do what is right, just like David and Esther. God gives us the strength to stand up for others and to be lights in this world.
Let’s close our eyes and pray together about being brave and standing up for what is right, sharing the love of God with others. Amen!
