Title: Healthy Hearts for God and Others

Objective: To teach young children the importance of taking care of their physical and spiritual health through the love of God and others.

Introduction:
Hi children! Today, we are going to learn about how to keep our hearts healthy. Having a healthy heart is important because it helps us to be physically and spiritually strong. When we take care of our bodies and our relationship with God, we can serve others with love, just as Jesus did.

Body:
1. Physical Health:
a. Eating healthy food: God has created us with amazing bodies that need good nutrition to grow and stay healthy. We can please God by taking care of our bodies and making healthy food choices.
b. Physical activity: God also wants us to take care of our bodies by staying active. We can run, play, and exercise to keep our muscles and bones strong.
c. Rest: Another way to take care of our bodies is to get enough rest. Our bodies need sleep to recharge and be ready for the next day.

2. Spiritual Health:
a. Prayer: God loves it when we talk to Him. Prayer helps us to build a strong relationship with God, and it also helps us to feel calm and peaceful.
b. Bible reading: We can learn about God’s love and wisdom by reading the Bible. When we read the Bible, we can understand God’s plan for us and His commands for how we should live our lives.
c. Love others: When we show love to others, we are taking care of our spiritual health. Jesus teaches us to love our neighbors as ourselves. We can make others feel happy by showing them kindness, helping them, and sharing with them.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, God wants us to have healthy hearts, both physically and spiritually. By taking care of our bodies, our relationship with God, and by showing love to others, we can have a healthy heart for God and others. Let’s pray to God and ask Him to help us live a healthy life and to love others each day. Amen.

Craft Idea

Craft Idea: Heart-Shaped Prayer Journal

Supplies:
– Cardstock or construction paper in shades of red and pink
– Scissors
– Hole punch
– Ribbon or yarn
– Glue stick
– Markers or pens

Instructions:

1. Cut out two identical heart shapes from the red and pink paper. Each heart should be about 4-5 inches wide.

2. On one of the hearts, write “Healthy Hearts for God and Others” at the top.

3. Using the hole punch, punch several holes along the curved edge of both hearts.

4. Stack the two hearts together, with the writing facing out. Use the ribbon or yarn to tie the two hearts together by threading it through the holes, leaving a long tail on each end of the string.

5. Use the glue stick to attach the two hearts together around the edges, leaving the top of the heart open.

6. Inside the heart-shaped journal, encourage children to record their prayers and thoughts about having healthy hearts for God and others. They can also write down ways they can serve and show love to those around them.

7. Use the markers or pens to decorate the outside of the journal with additional hearts or other designs.

This craft is a great way to tie in the lesson of healthy hearts for God and others, by encouraging children to reflect on their thoughts and actions towards others. It’s also a fun, hands-on way for them to create something that they can use and refer back to as a reminder of their commitment to loving and serving others.
