Title: Heaven: What is it and How to Get There

Introduction:
Welcome to our lesson on Life after Death. Today, we will be discussing what happens after we die and how we can get to Heaven.

Body:
What happens after we die?
As Christians, we believe that when we die, our souls go to either Heaven or Hell. Heaven is a place where we will be with God forever, and Hell is a place of eternal punishment.

What is Heaven?
Heaven is a place where there is no more pain, sorrow or death. We will be reunited with our loved ones who have gone before us, and we will worship and praise God forever.

How can we get to Heaven?
The Bible tells us that the only way to get to Heaven is through faith in Jesus Christ. John 14:6 says, “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”

Accepting Jesus as our Savior means confessing our sins and asking Him to forgive us. It also means committing our lives to following Him and obeying His commands.

What happens if we don’t accept Jesus?
If we don’t accept Jesus as our Savior, we will not be able to enter Heaven. Instead, we will spend eternity in Hell, separated from God.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, Life after Death is a reality for every person. As Christians, we have the hope of eternal life in Heaven through our faith in Jesus Christ. Let us make the decision to follow Him today and spend eternity with Him in Heaven.

Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for the hope of eternal life in Heaven through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray that You will help us to make the decision to follow Him today and commit our lives to obeying Your commands. In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.

Object Lesson

Prop list:

– Two ropes of different lengths (about 6 and 12 feet)
– A ladder (or something to stand on)
– A sign labeled “Heaven”
– A sign labeled “Hell”
– Optional: a timer or stopwatch

Illustration presentation:

Start by explaining to the teens what heaven is and why it’s important to know about it. You can use biblical references or personal stories to make it more relatable. Then, introduce the props and arrange them in a visible area.

Step 1: The longest rope represents a long life, while the shorter rope represents a shorter life. Ask for two volunteers to hold the ropes. Make sure one is shorter than the other. Then, ask the rest of the group to guess which rope represents a longer life.

Step 2: Use the ladder (or stand on a chair) and hang the “Heaven” sign above the longer rope. Explain that heaven is the ultimate goal and reward for living a good life.

Step 3: Hang the “Hell” sign above the shorter rope. Explain that hell is the opposite of heaven and represents the consequences of living a bad life.

Step 4: Ask the volunteers to raise their ropes as high as they can, almost touching the signs. Ask the group to guess which rope will reach heaven.

Step 5: Use a timer or stopwatch to measure how long each volunteer can hold their rope up. You can make it a competition or just show both times. Explain that living a good life takes effort and perseverance, just like holding the rope up for a long time.

Step 6: Wrap up the illustration by emphasizing that getting to heaven requires more than simply living a long life. It requires making good choices, treating others kindly, and seeking a relationship with God. Encourage the teens to ask questions and explore their own beliefs about life after death.
