Psalm 91 is a well-known passage in the Bible that is often referred to as the "Psalm of Protection." It is a powerful declaration of faith and trust in God’s ability to protect and provide for His people in times of trouble. As an evangelical Christian, I believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that Psalm 91 is a source of comfort and hope for believers who face trials and tribulations in this world.

The psalm begins with a statement of faith: "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty" (v. 1). This verse speaks of the close relationship that believers can have with God when they trust in Him and seek His protection. The psalm goes on to describe the many ways in which God protects His people, including from deadly diseases and dangerous enemies (vv. 3-8).

Verse 9 provides a promise of God’s protection: "Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place–the Most High, who is my refuge–no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent." This verse assures believers that when they make God their refuge and dwelling place, they can trust that He will keep them safe from harm.

One of the most powerful verses in the psalm is verse 11: "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways." This verse speaks of God’s angelic protection over His people, and is often quoted by believers as a source of comfort and assurance in times of trouble. It reminds us that we are not alone, and that God has sent His angels to watch over us and keep us safe.

The psalm ends with a declaration of faith and trust in God’s goodness and faithfulness: "Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation" (vv. 14-16). This final section of the psalm reminds us that when we put our trust in God and call upon His name, He will be faithful to protect and provide for us in all circumstances.

As an evangelical Christian, I believe that Psalm 91 is a powerful reminder of God’s love, faithfulness, and protection for His people. It is a source of comfort and hope in times of trouble, and a reminder that we can trust in God’s promises to keep us safe and provide for our every need. May we always turn to Him in faith and trust, knowing that He is our refuge and strength in every circumstance of life.
