Florida Man Traps Prophet in Swamp

In a bizarre turn of events, a Florida man was caught trapping a prophet in a swamp. According to witnesses, the man, identified only as "Swampy," had taken offense to the prophet’s warnings about impending doom. In a fit of rage, Swampy dug a cistern in the middle of the swamp and threw the prophet in it.

When asked about his actions, Swampy claimed that the prophet was spreading lies and causing a disturbance. He also mentioned that the swamp was the perfect place to teach him a lesson. "If he can survive in here, he can survive anything," Swampy said.

Meanwhile, the prophet was left to fend for himself in the cistern. The murky water was up to his neck and he could barely breathe. But despite the dire situation, the prophet did not lose hope. He prayed to the Lord for deliverance and trusted that he would be saved.

The Lord did not disappoint. He sent an Ethiopian eunuch named Ebed-Melech to rescue the prophet. Ebed-Melech heard about the prophet’s plight and went to King Zedekiah to plead for his release. The king relented and allowed Ebed-Melech to retrieve the prophet from the cistern.

When the prophet was finally pulled out of the swamp, he was grateful to Ebed-Melech and praised the Lord for his deliverance. He continued to preach his message of repentance and warned the people of the impending danger that awaited them if they did not turn from their wicked ways.

This strange incident serves as a reminder that even in the midst of our trials, we can trust in the Lord to see us through. As the prophet Jeremiah himself once said, "Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him" (Jeremiah 17:7). So let us put our trust in the Lord and find hope in his promises, just as the prophet did in the middle of the swamp.

Read Jeremiah 38:1-13 in the Bible for the actual story.
