Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme, was flipping through the pages of his mystical book when he stumbled upon the story of the Bible’s book of Judges. Intrigued, he delved into the narrative and discovered a series of adventures that were both fascinating and weirdly relatable.
As he read the opening chapters, he learned that the Israelites had conquered the Promised Land but were struggling with rebellion and idolatry. They needed a leader, and that’s where the judges come in – charismatic individuals chosen by God to save the Israelites from their enemies and restore their faith. Doctor Strange couldn’t help but think that his own work as a protector of Earth was uncannily similar to that of the judges.
One of the most memorable tales in the book of Judges is that of Gideon, a farmer who’s called by God to defeat the Midianites. Doctor Strange found Gideon’s story particularly fascinating, as he too had gone from an ordinary life to an extraordinary destiny. As Gideon assembled his army, he asked God for a sign – and got one in the form of a fleece. Doctor Strange couldn’t help but chuckle at this, thinking that the spiritual realm had much more obvious ways of communicating with its chosen ones.
Doctor Strange also found the story of Samson intriguing – a man with superhuman strength who was undone by his love for a woman. The sorcerer couldn’t help but see parallels with his own relationship with Clea, a fellow sorceress with whom he had a tumultuous romance. He muttered to himself, “Love truly is the Achilles’ heel of even the mightiest heroes.”
As the book of Judges went on, Doctor Strange was introduced to other notable figures such as Deborah, Jephthah, and Ehud. While each judge had their own unique personality and struggles, they all shared a deep sense of devotion to both God and their people. Doctor Strange admired their courage and tenacity, and felt a kinship with their mission.
In the end, Doctor Strange finished the book of Judges with a sense of awe and respect. He mused to himself, “The Bible may be thousands of years old, but its stories still resonate with us today. Truly, the Word of God is timeless.” As he closed his mystical book, he couldn’t help but grin and quote one of his favorite lines from the movie “Thor: Ragnarok”: “It’s only the end of the world…again.”
