Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon with Sennacherib from the Bible

The popular game "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" challenges players to find a connection between any actor and Kevin Bacon within six steps. Let’s try a different twist of this game and connect Kevin Bacon to Sennacherib, a famous king from the Bible, using six steps.

Step 1: Sennacherib to Nebuchadnezzar II

Sennacherib was a king of Assyria who reigned between 705 BC and 681 BC. He was known for his military campaigns and conquests, one of which was the siege of Jerusalem in 701 BC. Nebuchadnezzar II was a king of Babylon who reigned between 605 BC and 562 BC. He was known for his conquest of Jerusalem in 597 BC and for his role in the Babylonian captivity of the Jewish people.

Step 2: Nebuchadnezzar II to Daniel

Daniel was a Jewish prophet who lived during the Babylonian captivity. He was known for his wisdom and his ability to interpret dreams, including a dream that Nebuchadnezzar II had about a great statue.

Step 3: Daniel to King Belshazzar

King Belshazzar was a Babylonian king who ruled during the time of the Babylonian captivity. He was known for his extravagant feasts and for his use of the Jewish temple vessels at one of those feasts.

Step 4: King Belshazzar to Cyrus the Great

Cyrus the Great was a king of Persia who reigned between 559 BC and 530 BC. He was known for his conquests and for his role in the liberation of the Jewish people from Babylonian captivity. He conquered Babylon in 539 BC, ending the reign of King Belshazzar.

Step 5: Cyrus the Great to Alexander the Great

Alexander the Great was a king of Macedon who reigned between 336 BC and 323 BC. He was known for his military conquests and his expansion of the Greek empire. He conquered Persia in 330 BC, including the area where Cyrus the Great had once ruled.

Step 6: Alexander the Great to Kevin Bacon

Kevin Bacon is an American actor known for his roles in movies such as Footloose, A Few Good Men, and Apollo 13. He starred in the movie Alexander, released in 2004, which depicted the life and conquests of Alexander the Great.

Bible Verse: "Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah: ‘This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Because you have prayed to me concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria, this is the word the Lord has spoken against him’" (Isaiah 37:21-22 NIV).

This verse shows the connection between Sennacherib and the prophet Isaiah, as well as the power of prayer and faith in God’s protection. Despite Sennacherib’s military might, he was ultimately defeated by God’s intervention.
