Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon with Ishmael from the Bible

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon with Ishmael from the Bible

If you’ve ever played the popular game "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon," then you know the rules. The objective is to connect Kevin Bacon to another actor or actress through shared movie roles in six or fewer steps. However, what if we applied this game to connect Kevin Bacon with a character from the Bible? Let’s try it with Ishmael.

Step 1: Ishmael to Abraham
Ishmael was the first son of Abraham, who was promised by God that he would become the father of many nations. Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son Isaac, but God provided a ram as a substitute.

Step 2: Abraham to Moses
Moses was the great-grandson of Levi, the third son of Jacob and Leah. Abraham’s grandson, Jacob, had twelve sons, one of whom was Levi. Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt after God sent ten plagues to convince Pharaoh to release them from slavery.

Step 3: Moses to David
David was the second king of Israel, succeeding King Saul. He was known for his bravery in battle and his love for God. David is also known for writing many of the Psalms found in the Bible.

Step 4: David to Jesus
Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the same town where David was born. He was a carpenter before beginning his ministry at the age of thirty. Jesus performed many miracles, including healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and even raising the dead.

Step 5: Jesus to Paul
Paul, also known as Saul, was a Pharisee who became a Christian after a vision of Jesus on the road to Damascus. He became a prominent figure in the early Christian church and wrote many letters to different communities of believers.

Step 6: Paul to Kevin Bacon
In the movie "Beyond All Boundaries," Kevin Bacon narrated the story of World War II and the struggles of American soldiers during the conflict. The movie was directed by David Briggs, who also directed the 2014 film "Apostle Paul: A Polite Bribe," in which Paul was portrayed by James Faulkner.

Bible Verse: "And he shall be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren." -Genesis 16:12

This verse refers to Ishmael’s character and his role in the Bible. Despite his troubled past and his conflicts with others, Ishmael was still a vital figure in the lineage of Abraham and the history of the Jewish people. Through this game, we can see how even the most seemingly unrelated people can be connected in surprising and interesting ways.
