The Forgiveness Quilt – a Matthew 18 Craft
Materials Needed:
- Fabric squares or felt squares
- Fabric markers or Sharpies
- Thread and needle or hot glue gun
- Scissors
- Ribbon or twine
Instructions:
- Begin by cutting out fabric squares in various colors or using pre-cut felt squares.
- Using fabric markers or Sharpies, write forgiveness quotes or Bible verses on each square.
- Cut out a large square or rectangle of fabric to serve as the base of the quilt.
- Arrange the smaller squares on the base fabric, creating a pattern or random design.
- Once you are satisfied with the layout, attach the smaller squares to the base fabric using thread and needle or hot glue gun.
- Cut lengths of ribbon or twine to serve as ties for the quilt.
- Attach the ties to each corner of the quilt, knotting them securely.
- Hang the quilt in a prominent place, as a reminder of the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation.
Optional:
- This craft can be adapted for a group or classroom setting by having each person decorate their own square and then combining them to create a larger quilt.
