Raising Lazarus – a John 11 Craft

Raising Lazarus – a John 11 Craft

Supplies Needed

  • White paper
  • Black marker
  • Colored pencils or crayons

Instructions

  1. Read John 11 from the Bible with your child.
  2. Discuss the story of Lazarus and Jesus’ miracle of raising him from the dead.
  3. Using the black marker, draw the outline of a person on the white paper. This can be done freehand or by tracing a template.
  4. Have your child use the colored pencils or crayons to decorate the person to look like Lazarus. They can add details such as his clothing, hair, and facial features.
  5. Discuss with your child how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, and how this shows Jesus’ power and compassion.
  6. Display the finished artwork in a prominent place as a reminder of the miracle of Lazarus and Jesus’ love for us.

Optional Extension

For older children, you can also include a discussion about the significance of the story of Lazarus and how it relates to our faith. You can explore themes such as resurrection, eternal life, and the power of belief.
