Supplies Needed
- White paper
- Black marker
- Colored pencils or crayons
Instructions
- Read John 11 from the Bible with your child.
- Discuss the story of Lazarus and Jesus’ miracle of raising him from the dead.
- Using the black marker, draw the outline of a person on the white paper. This can be done freehand or by tracing a template.
- Have your child use the colored pencils or crayons to decorate the person to look like Lazarus. They can add details such as his clothing, hair, and facial features.
- Discuss with your child how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, and how this shows Jesus’ power and compassion.
- Display the finished artwork in a prominent place as a reminder of the miracle of Lazarus and Jesus’ love for us.
Optional Extension
For older children, you can also include a discussion about the significance of the story of Lazarus and how it relates to our faith. You can explore themes such as resurrection, eternal life, and the power of belief.
