Living Water – a John 4 Craft

Materials Needed

• Small plastic cups
• Blue food coloring
• Clear glue
• Glitter
• Craft sticks
• Markers

Instructions

1. Fill each plastic cup about 3/4 full with water.
2. Add a few drops of blue food coloring to each cup and stir to create a blue tint to the water, representing the living water that Jesus spoke about in John 4.
3. Add a small amount of clear glue to each cup, stirring to create a cloudy effect in the water, representing the impurities of the world that Jesus can cleanse.
4. Sprinkle some glitter into each cup, representing the joy and salvation that comes from accepting Jesus as our savior.
5. Use markers to write "John 4" or "Living Water" on the craft sticks and place one in each cup.
6. As you make the craft, discuss the story of the woman at the well in John 4 and how Jesus offered her living water that would eternally quench her thirst. Talk about how we can also receive this living water by accepting Jesus into our lives and how he can cleanse us of our impurities and give us joy and salvation.
