Interviewer: Good day, everyone. Today we have a special guest, the author of Psalm 138:8 from the Bible. Thank you for joining us. Could you please introduce yourself?
Author: Thank you for having me. My name is David, son of Jesse, and I am honored to be here today.
Interviewer: It’s a pleasure to have you, David. Let’s dive straight into the questions. What can you tell us about the background and inspiration behind Psalm 138:8?
David: Psalm 138:8 was written during a significant period in my life. At that time, I was reflecting on the immense love and faithfulness that God had shown me throughout my journey.
Interviewer: How did this reflection on God’s love and faithfulness prompt you to write verse 8?
David: Well, you see, amidst all the challenges I faced, I recognized that God’s love and steadfastness were unwavering, and it brought me immense comfort and assurance. I wanted to share this realization with others, to encourage them and remind them that God’s love endures forever.
Interviewer: That’s beautiful, David. Could you walk us through the verse itself, Psalm 138:8?
David: Of course. Psalm 138:8 reads, “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.”
Interviewer: What message were you trying to convey in this verse?
David: It’s a message of trust and confidence in God’s plans for our lives. I wanted to emphasize that whatever His purpose may be for each of us, He is faithful to carry it through to completion. Our lives are not random or without meaning, but rather intricately crafted by God, and He will see His plans for us come to fruition.
Interviewer: That’s a powerful message, David. Can you share a personal experience or circumstance that influenced your writing of Psalm 138:8?
David: Absolutely. As a young shepherd, I faced numerous challenges and dangers in my daily life, from facing giants on the battlefield to being hunted by enemies. However, I experienced first-hand how God protected and guided me through every trial. It was during these seasons that I felt an overwhelming sense of assurance that God had a purpose for my life, and that His love would never leave me.

David: I would want readers to embrace a deep trust in God’s unwavering love and faithfulness. To understand that no matter the circumstances we face, God will fulfill His purpose for each of us. Even when life seems uncertain or daunting, we can rest assured in His steadfast love, knowing that He will never abandon the work of His hands.
