interview with the author of Psalm 121:7-8

Interviewer: Can you share with us your inspiration for writing Psalm 121:7-8?

Author: Of course. As I was traveling through the mountains, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of wonder and awe at the grandeur of creation. But at the same time, I also felt a sense of fear and vulnerability. The vastness of the mountains made me realize how small and powerless I am in comparison.

Interviewer: And how did you deal with that fear and vulnerability?

Author: Well, I turned to God, of course. It was in those moments of feeling small and powerless that I realized my need for a higher power. So I wrote these words as a reminder to myself, and to anyone reading them, that God is our protector and provider. We don’t need to rely on our own strength or power, because God is always watching over us.

Interviewer: Can you share with us the specific words you wrote?

Author:

“The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.”

Interviewer: That’s beautiful. Thank you for sharing your inspiration with us.

Author: My pleasure. It’s my hope that these words will bring comfort and peace to those who read them, just as they have for me.
