**Author (John):** Thank you for having me! In those verses, I wanted to emphasize the importance of recognizing Jesus as the gate or door for the sheep. When I wrote, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep,” I wanted to highlight how He is the only way to true safety and salvation.

**Interviewer:** Interesting! What did you mean by saying that those who enter through Him will be saved and find pasture?

**Author (John):** Well, I was illustrating that by entering through Jesus, one can find both salvation and provision. The imagery of “pasture” symbolizes abundant life—a life filled with fulfillment, peace, and nourishment that comes from a relationship with Him. It’s about finding security and a place to thrive.

**Interviewer:** You also mentioned that the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. Why was it important for you to contrast that with Jesus’ purpose?

**Author (John):** That contrast is crucial! I wanted to make it clear that while there are forces that seek to harm and lead us astray—hence the thief—Jesus comes to bring life. When I wrote, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full,” it was my way of proclaiming that Jesus offers not just existence, but a rich, abundant life that fulfills the deepest needs of the soul.

**Interviewer:** So, in essence, you’re presenting Jesus as the protector and giver of life?

**Author (John):** Exactly! Jesus is the gate that provides access to safety and nourishment, and His purpose is to enrich our lives. It’s about choosing the path that leads to true fulfillment and away from destruction. That was my intention all along in these verses.
