interview with the author of Ecclesiastes 11:5

Interviewer: Good afternoon. Can you please introduce yourself to our audience?

Author: Hello, my name is Qoheleth. I am the author of the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible.

Interviewer: It’s an honor to have you with us today. Could you please share with us one of your favorite verses from your book?

Author: Absolutely. One of my favorite verses is Ecclesiastes 11:5, which says “As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.”

Interviewer: That’s a beautiful verse. What inspired you to write that?

Author: Well, throughout my life, I have observed that many people think they know everything about life and God. They try to explain God’s mysteries and why things happen the way they do. However, I wanted to tell people that there are certain things that we just cannot understand, and that we should accept that. Just as we cannot fully comprehend the path of the wind or how a baby forms in the womb, we cannot fully understand the work of God.

Interviewer: That is a very humbling thought. Is there anything else you would like to add about that verse?

Author: Yes, I want to encourage people to have faith and trust in God, even when we do not understand what is happening around us. We should not try to explain everything or be too quick to judge, but instead, we should focus on the things we do know, like loving our neighbor and being grateful for what we have.

Interviewer: Thank you so much for your time today, Qoheleth. It was a pleasure having you here.

Author: Thank you for having me. It was a pleasure to share my thoughts with you and your audience.
