Sharing some Rest with Mike using the Bible.

Dear Mike,

I hope this note finds you well. I know that being a senior can come with its own set of challenges, but I want to encourage you to find rest in the Lord. The Bible is full of inspiring messages that can uplift us even in our toughest times.

One of my favorite verses comes from Matthew 11:28-30, where Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

No matter what may be weighing on your heart or mind, know that the Lord is always there to offer you peace and rest. I pray that you find comfort and strength in these words, and that you know just how much you are loved and cared for by the Lord.

From God’s Heart to Yours,

Someone Who Cares.

Mike

Mighty Jesus offers rest to the weary
Incline your heart, Mike, and do not tarry
Kindly He invites you to come and see
Exhale your worries, His peace will set you free.

1. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

Mike, remember that when you’re feeling tired and weighed down, you can turn to God for rest and rejuvenation. He promises to take care of you and provide the peace that you need.

2. “He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.” – Psalm 23:2-3

Just like a shepherd cares for his flock, God wants to lead you to peaceful places where you can find rest and renewal. Take time to soak in the serenity of nature and let Him refresh your soul.

3. “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” – Psalm 28:7

Mike, even in your senior years, you can still find joy and strength in the Lord. Trust in Him and let His presence be your shield, comforting and protecting you throughout your days.

4. “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10

It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, but it’s important to take time to be still and recognize God’s power and presence. Allow yourself to rest in His love and sovereignty.

5. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7

As a senior, it’s normal to have worries and concerns about the future. But know that God cares deeply for you and wants to carry your burdens. Surrender your anxieties to Him and find rest in His care.
