A letter to Ulysses from Cupid with 314 days until Valentine’s Day

Dear Ulysses,

Hey there! It’s Cupid. You know, the little guy in diapers with the bow and arrow. That’s me! I’m sure you’ve heard of me before. I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself properly and share some fun stuff about me. Firstly, I am 100% responsible for making people fall in love. I shoot my arrows, and BOOM! People are all googly-eyed and head over heels. Secondly, I love chocolate! Chocolate covered strawberries are my favorite. And lastly, did you hear the one about the two antennae that met on a roof and fell in love? They got married! The wedding wasn’t much, but the reception was excellent! Okay, maybe my jokes need work, but I’m a pretty good shot with my bow and arrow.

Now, let’s get serious for a moment. Valentine’s Day isn’t just about cards, flowers, and candy. It’s about love. But not just any kind of love – true love. Love so pure and perfect that it can only come from God. The Bible says in 1 John 4:8, “God is love.” And in John 3:16, it says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” That’s the kind of love we should strive for – selfless, sacrificial, and eternal. So this Valentine’s Day, let’s remember that love isn’t just a feeling or an emotion, it’s a choice. A choice to put others before ourselves and to love God first and foremost.

Well, that’s it from me, Ulysses. I hope you enjoyed getting to know a little more about me and my silly sense of humor. I want to encourage you to keep loving God and seeking after His perfect love. And don’t worry, I’ll keep shooting arrows to make sure love stays in the air. Happy Valentine’s Day!

I’ll Keep Shooting Arrows – You Keep Loving God, Cupid

P.S. “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” – 1 Corinthians 13:13
