A letter to Taylor from Uncle Sam with 91 days until July 4th

Dear Taylor,

Howdy there, partner! It’s your ol’ Uncle Sam here wishing you a Happy Independence Day! The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays- I just love celebrating the birth of our great nation. Speaking of celebrating, did you know that I love to throw a good party? I bet we could have some real fun together if we were to celebrate together!

Now, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’m a symbol of American freedom and patriotism, but did you know that I also have a fun sense of humor? I always say, “I want YOU to have a good day!” (cue the rimshot!) But in all seriousness, freedom and independence are values that I hold dear. In fact, did you know that the Bible also talks a lot about freedom? In Galatians 5:1 it says, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

Freedom is a gift that we have been given, and we should cherish and protect it. It’s what makes America great! So as you enjoy all the fun and festivities of the holiday, remember to be grateful for the freedoms we have and to pray for those who are fighting to protect them.

P.S. Another great verse about freedom is 2 Corinthians 3:17- “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
