A letter to Larry from Cupid with 316 days until Valentine’s Day

Dear Larry,

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Cupid, and I’m sure you’ve heard of me before. I’m the winged god of love who shoots arrows to make people fall in love. Pretty cool, huh? But there’s more to me than just arrows and hearts. I have a love for music, art and poetry. I also enjoy reading about people who have fallen in love and created a beautiful relationship.

Here’s a quick joke for you to enjoy: Why did Cupid shoot his arrow at the clock? To give it a love tick!

Now, speaking of love, I want to share with you the true meaning of Valentine’s Day. While roses, chocolates, and fancy dinners are nice, love is much more than that. It’s a selfless act where we put the needs of others before our own. Love is patient, kind, not envious, not boastful or proud, not rude, not self-seeking, not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. These words might sound familiar to you, but that’s because they are from the Bible – 1st Corinthians 13:4-8.

Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to show those around us that we care for them, and not just romantically. We can show love to our family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers. It’s about spreading love, kindness, and compassion on this special day, and every day.

In closing, Larry, remember that while I’ll keep shooting arrows, you must keep loving God. The source of true love comes from our Creator, and by loving Him, we are able to love others better. May your Valentine’s Day be filled with love and peace.

P.S. I think this Bible Verse fits the occasion well: “let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” – 1st John 3:18.
