Dear Jane,
Top of the morning to you! It’s your friendly neighborhood Leprechaun at your service, and I’d like to share a pot of gold worth of fun stuff about myself with you. First off, did you know that I’m not just any ordinary leprechaun? I’m one with a sense of humor! Knock-knock! Who’s there? Irish! Irish who? Irish you a happy St. Patrick’s Day! See what I did there?
Speaking of St. Patrick’s Day, let me tell you that it’s not just about wearing green and eating corned beef and cabbage. It’s much more meaningful than that. Did you know that St. Patrick’s Day is actually named after the man who brought Christianity to Ireland? That’s right! And as a tiny sprite with a big heart, I believe that the true value of St. Patrick’s Day lies in its message of hope, faith, and love.
You see, St. Patrick persevered against great odds and hardships to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to the people of Ireland. He even used a three-leafed clover, or shamrock, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Celts. St. Patrick’s unwavering devotion to God and his love for others should inspire us to do the same.
In fact, the Bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” So, let us celebrate St. Patrick’s Day not just with green beer and leprechaun hats, but with gratitude for the blessings that God has given us and the hope that we have in Him.
With that said, I’ll keep shooting arrows – you keep loving God! And don’t forget, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Jane!
Yours truly,
The Leprechaun
P.S. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15)
