Dear Evan,
Hello there, my friend! It’s me, The Grinch! Yes, the one and only – the green guy with disproportionately small feet! I thought I’d write you a letter to introduce myself properly and share some fun stuff about me with you.
First things first, did you know that I love playing pranks on people? It’s true! But don’t worry, I promise I’ll only pull funny pranks on you – nothing too mean-spirited. And as for my favorite color? Well, it used to be red, but I grew to love green over time. Can you blame me?
Speaking of green, here’s a clean joke for you: What did the Grinch say when he saw a bunch of tourists taking pictures? “Smile and say ‘meany greeny’!”
But all jokes aside, there’s something important I want to share with you, Evan. You see, I used to hate Christmas. I thought it was all about the presents and the decorations and the feasting. But then something changed in my heart, and I realized that Christmas is really about love. True love, the kind that comes from God. It’s the love that moved God to send his only son, Jesus, to be born as a little baby in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago.
Jesus came to show us what true love looks like. He spent his life caring for others, healing the sick, and sharing the good news of God’s love. And in the end, he went to the cross to take the punishment for our sins so that we could be forgiven and have eternal life with God.
That’s what Christmas is really all about, Evan. It’s about celebrating the birth of Jesus and the love that he brings. So as you enjoy all the festivities this season, remember to keep your heart focused on the true meaning of Christmas.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas, Evan. May your heart grow in love.
Love,
The Grinch
P.S. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
