How Baptists and Jehovah Witnesss view Jesus

Baptist View on Jesus:
The Baptist view on Jesus centers around his divinity and role as Savior. Baptists believe that Jesus is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. They affirm that Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the forgiveness of sins, and rose from the dead, conquering death and providing salvation for all who believe in him.

Baptists also believe in the Trinity, viewing Jesus as one person of the Godhead along with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. They believe in the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus, acknowledging him as Lord and Savior, and following his teachings as found in the Bible.

Jehovah Witness View on Jesus:
Jehovah’s Witnesses have a different view on Jesus compared to Baptists. They believe that Jesus is the first and greatest creation of Jehovah God, but is not equal to God in nature. They affirm that Jesus is a separate being from God the Father, and is referred to as the Archangel Michael in their teachings.

Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe in the Trinity, and reject the belief in Jesus as part of a triune Godhead. They believe that Jesus’ death was necessary for the redemption of mankind, but that his resurrection was a spiritual one, not a physical one.

In conclusion, while both Baptists and Jehovah’s Witnesses hold Jesus in high regard and acknowledge his importance in the plan of salvation, their views on his nature and role in the Godhead differ significantly. It is important for us to seek understanding and respect each other’s beliefs, while standing firm in our own convictions.

Bible Verses About Jesus

Bible Verses for Baptist Theology on Jesus:

John 1:1 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 10:30 – “I and the Father are one.”

John 14:6 – “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”

Philippians 2:6-8 – “Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!”

Bible Verses for Jehovah Witness Theology on Jesus:

John 1:14 – “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Colossians 1:15 – “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.”

1 Timothy 2:5 – “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,”

1 Peter 2:21-24 – “For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.”
