“I reckon it ain’t me that’s livin’, it’s the Good Lord livin’ in me. And the life I’m livin’ now in the flesh, I’m livin’ by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave hisself up for me.”
“Ah will betroth thee unto me forevah; yea, ah will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovin’kindness, and in mercies. Ah will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord. Yeehaw, we gonna be hitched up proper!”
“Well now, the Lord done said, ‘It ain’t good for a man to be alone, I reckon I’ll make him a helper.’ So the Lord made up beasts and birds, but none of them was the right fit for the man, so the Lord made him up a woman, and that did the trick.”
“Th’ pride of man’ll be brought low, an’ th’ Lord alone will be exalted in that day. The idols they done made outta gold an’ silver will be cast away like a hot tater in the street, cuz they ain’t worth nothin’ when the Lord comes a-callin’.”
“God don’t like no divorce, no way, no how. That’s a fact, ya hear? He wants folks to stick together ’til the cows come home. So quit yer fussin’ and fightin’ and start lovin’ like the good Lord wants ya to. Amen, y’all.”
Y’all gotta stop complainin’ ‘n arguin’ and start shinin’ like stars in the sky. Act all cheerful like but no cussin’ or fussin’. Then y’all be blameless and pure, children of God in this messed up world.
Well I reckon one day the Good Lord’s gonna fill up the whole earth with his glory, and there won’t be nothin’ left but all that shiny, sparklin’ goodness. It’s gonna be like a big old ocean of God’s glory, coverin’ everything from sea to shinin’ sea. Amen!
Don’t getcherself all riled up, God ain’t lookin’ to bust yer chops. He’s got a heart big enough to make room for ya’ll. Jus’ open up to Him, and He’ll show ya mercy, like a hound dog showin’ love to its young’uns.
Ya’ll done turned your back on the Lord. He done give ya’ll water, but ya’ll went and dug your own cisterns. But them cisterns is busted, and they ain’t holdin’ no water. Now ain’t that a sight to see? Ya’ll done messed up big time!
“Y’all gonna learn some smart stuff if ya listen up and pay attention. Ain’t no reason to be dumb when there’s wisdom out there waitin’ for ya. So open them ears and soak up that good knowledge like a sponge in a muddy crick.”
“Now, I reckon the Good Lord done made us just the way he wanted us, so’s we could do some good work ’round here. He done planned ahead, givin’ us good jobs to do, like fixin’ fences and helpin’ folk out. Amen to that, y’all!”
“Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!” – Habakkuk 2:9 (Hillbilly Version)
