1. Jesus calming the storm: In Mark 4:35-41, Jesus and his disciples were on a boat when a fierce storm arose. Jesus simply spoke to it and the winds and waves obediently subsided, bringing a great calm. This story teaches that Jesus has the power to calm the storms in our lives and bring us peace.
2. The birth of Jesus: The angels proclaimed “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests” when they announced the birth of Jesus in Luke 2:14. Jesus came to bring us peace with God and in our own hearts, as we open ourselves to his love and grace.
3. The Good Samaritan: In Luke 10:25-37, Jesus told the story of a man who was robbed and left for dead on the side of the road. A priest and a Levite both passed him by, but a Samaritan stopped and showed him kindness and generosity. This story teaches that we can bring peace to others by showing them compassion and love, even when it’s not easy or convenient.
4. Joseph and his brothers: In Genesis 37-50, Joseph’s brothers were jealous of him and sold him into slavery. Despite all the hardships he went through, Joseph forgave his brothers and showed them kindness and mercy. This story teaches that forgiveness and reconciliation can bring peace and healing to broken relationships.
