1. Goliath: Perhaps the most well-known story about giants in the Bible is that of David and Goliath. Goliath was a Philistine warrior who stood over nine feet tall and challenged the Israelite army to combat. David, a young shepherd boy, famously defeated Goliath with a single stone from his sling.
2. Anakim: The Anakim were a race of giants that inhabited the land of Canaan. They were known for their great height and strength and were feared by many. Moses and the Israelites encountered the Anakim when they scouted out the land of Canaan prior to their conquest.
3. Og: Og was the king of Bashan, one of the kingdoms conquered by the Israelites during their journey to the promised land. He was said to be over ten feet tall and had a bed made of iron that was 13 feet long. Despite his size, Og was defeated by the Israelites and his kingdom was added to their territory.
4. Nephilim: The Nephilim were a group of beings mentioned in Genesis 6:4 who were said to be the offspring of human women and “the sons of God.” Their exact nature and characteristics are unclear, but they are often portrayed as giants or superhumans of some sort.
