Here are four stories:
1. Psalm 14 – This psalm discusses the foolishness of people who say in their heart that there is no God. The psalmist describes them as corrupt and without understanding.
2. Acts 17:16-34 – In this story, the Apostle Paul visits Athens and encounters a group of Epicureans and Stoics who were skeptical of his message about Jesus Christ. Paul proclaimed that there is only one God who made the world and everything in it, and that this God now calls all people to repent and believe in His Son.
3. Matthew 7:24-27 – Jesus tells a parable about two builders. One built his house on the sand, and the other built his house on a solid rock foundation. When storms came, the house built on sand fell down, while the house built on the rock remained standing. The story signifies that those who build their lives on God’s word will stand strong, while those who reject it are like foolish builders.
4. 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 – The Apostle Paul writes about the foolishness of God being wiser than human wisdom. According to the text, the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing (which could include atheists), but to those who believe, it is the power of God.
