The Parable of Abundance – a Luke 12 Story

Once upon a time, there was a wealthy businesswoman named Sarah who had everything she could ever want. She was the CEO of a successful company and had a luxurious lifestyle. One day, while sitting in her office, she began to feel a sense of emptiness. Despite all her wealth, she felt unfulfilled and restless.

As she was contemplating her feelings, a homeless man walked past her window. Sarah watched as he rummaged through a nearby trash can, searching for food scraps. She felt a pang of guilt and realized how blessed she was to have everything she needed while others struggled just to survive.

Feeling inspired, Sarah decided to start a foundation to help the homeless population in her city. She used her resources and connections to provide housing, food, and job training to those in need. Sarah found a new sense of purpose and joy as she helped others improve their lives.

One day, while attending a charity event for her foundation, Sarah met a young woman named Hannah. Hannah was a recent college graduate who was struggling to find a job in her field. Sarah saw potential in Hannah and offered her a job at her company. Hannah was thrilled to accept and worked hard to prove herself.

Over time, Hannah became one of Sarah’s most trusted employees and a close friend. As they worked together to help others, their relationship deepened, and they formed a strong bond. Sarah realized that her decision to share her wealth and resources not only helped others but also enriched her life in ways she never imagined.

In the end, Sarah learned that true abundance comes from giving to others and making a difference in their lives. She found fulfillment not in her wealth but in her ability to change lives and make a positive impact on the world.

As Luke 12:33-34 says, "Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
