Sending Out the Twelve – a Matthew 10 Story

Sending Out the Twelve – a Matthew 10 Story

Jenny had always been a firm believer in Jesus Christ. She had grown up in a family that attended church every Sunday and had instilled in her a deep love for the Lord. One day, as she was reading her Bible, she came across Matthew 10. She was struck by the passage that spoke of Jesus sending out his twelve disciples to preach and heal people.

Jenny had always felt a calling to serve others, and this passage resonated with her deeply. She felt that she too was being called to go out and spread the word of God. But she wasn’t sure where to start or what to do.

That’s when she decided to join a local church group that was focused on outreach and evangelism. The group was made up of people from all walks of life, from young adults to seniors, who shared her passion for serving others and spreading the Gospel.

Together, they began planning their first mission trip. They decided to travel to a poverty-stricken area in a nearby city, where they would set up a temporary clinic to offer medical care and distribute food and supplies.

Jenny was nervous but excited as she prepared to embark on this new adventure. She knew that it wouldn’t be easy, but she trusted that God would guide her every step of the way.

When they arrived in the city, they were met with a sea of people who were in desperate need of help. They set up their clinic in a local church and began seeing patients right away. Jenny was amazed at how many people came to see them, and she felt humbled by the trust they had placed in her and her team.

As the days went by, they saw more and more patients and distributed more and more supplies. They also took the time to pray with each person they saw, sharing words of encouragement and hope.

Jenny felt a sense of purpose and fulfillment that she had never experienced before. She knew that she had been called to do this work, and she was grateful for the opportunity to serve others.

When the mission trip was over, Jenny returned home with a renewed sense of faith and purpose. She knew that she would continue to serve others and spread the Gospel wherever she went, just as Jesus had commanded his disciples in Matthew 10.

As Jesus said in Matthew 10:39, "Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it." Jenny had found her life’s calling in serving others, and she knew that she had truly found her purpose in serving the Lord.
