From Death to Life – an Ephesians 2 Story

Jane was a successful businesswoman who had everything she wanted in life. She had a great job, a luxurious house, and a loving family. However, deep down she felt empty and unfulfilled. She had no purpose in life and felt like everything she had achieved was meaningless. One day, while browsing through her social media feed, she came across a quote from the Bible in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast." This quote spoke to her and she decided to explore the Bible further.

She started to read the Bible and attend church regularly. She discovered that she had been living a life focused on material possessions and success, rather than on God. She realized that she needed to change her ways and put God at the center of her life. She started to volunteer at the church and help those in need. Her life began to have meaning and purpose, and she felt more fulfilled than ever before.

One day, while she was volunteering at the local homeless shelter, she met a man named John. John had been homeless for many years and had lost everything he had due to his addiction to drugs. Jane felt a strong connection to John and decided to help him get back on his feet. She invited him to stay at her house and helped him find a job. John was grateful for her kindness and slowly started to turn his life around.

As Jane helped John, she realized that she had been saved by grace and that she needed to extend that same grace to others. She started to help more homeless people and became an advocate for them, fighting for their rights and dignity. She used her wealth and influence to make a difference in the lives of those who had been forgotten by society.

Through her experiences, Jane learned that true fulfillment comes not from material possessions or success, but from serving others and living a life centered on God. She found meaning and purpose in her life by helping others and making a positive impact on the world.

Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." This verse reminds us that we are created to do good works and make a positive impact on the world. Like Jane, we can find fulfillment and purpose in our lives by serving others and living a life centered on God.
