From Chains to Glory – a Revelation 20 Story
Samantha had always felt trapped. Trapped in her job, trapped in her relationships, trapped in her own mind. She had tried everything to break free, from therapy to meditation, but nothing seemed to work. Until she stumbled upon a church one Sunday morning and decided to give it a try.
As soon as she walked in, she felt a sense of peace she had never experienced before. The pastor welcomed her warmly and the congregation sang hymns that filled her heart with joy. She knew she had found something special.
Over the next few months, Samantha attended services regularly and even joined a small group. She finally felt like she belonged somewhere and was making new friends who understood her struggles. But one day, the pastor announced a new sermon series on Revelation 20, a chapter in the Bible that Samantha had never heard of before.
As the pastor began to preach, Samantha’s eyes grew wide with amazement. The chapter described a future where Satan would be bound for a thousand years and Jesus Christ would reign on earth. But what struck Samantha the most was the promise that those who believed in Christ would be resurrected and live forever in paradise.
For the first time in her life, Samantha felt hope. She realized that her chains could be broken, and that there was a way to escape the darkness that had consumed her. She began to read the Bible and pray regularly, seeking a deeper understanding of the love and grace that had been promised to her.
With each passing day, Samantha’s faith grew stronger. She found herself being transformed from the inside out, as the Holy Spirit worked in her heart to heal her wounds and guide her on the path of righteousness. She knew that there would still be challenges ahead, but she also knew that with Christ by her side, she could overcome any obstacle.
And so it was that Samantha went from chains to glory, from a life of despair to a life of eternal hope. She shared her story with others, hoping that they too would find the same peace and joy that she had found. She knew that life would never be perfect, but she also knew that the promise of Revelation 20 was true – that one day, all things would be made new, and that God’s people would live forever in his presence.
"Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire." – Revelation 20:11-15
