“Faith Advances Mountains” – a Matthew 8 Story

Faith Advances Mountains – A Matthew 8 Story

Maggie had been diagnosed with cancer and given a few months to live. She had tried everything from chemotherapy to radiation therapy, but nothing seemed to work. She had lost all hope until she met a man who told her about Jesus Christ. The man shared with her the story of the centurion who had faith that Jesus could heal his servant from afar.

Maggie decided to put her faith in Jesus and started attending a local church. The pastor and the congregation prayed for her, and she felt a sense of peace that she had never experienced before. She started reading the Bible and came across the story of Jesus calming the storm, and her faith grew even more.

One day, Maggie decided to go to the top of a nearby mountain to pray. She felt that if she could get closer to God, then maybe, just maybe, He would heal her. As she climbed the mountain, she prayed fervently, asking God to heal her and give her the strength to endure whatever was to come.

When she reached the top of the mountain, she found a large boulder in her way. She tried to move it, but it was too heavy. She remembered the words of Jesus, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Maggie closed her eyes and prayed. She asked God to give her the faith to move the boulder. When she opened her eyes, she saw the boulder move a few inches. She closed her eyes again and prayed harder. This time, when she opened her eyes, the boulder had moved a few feet.

Maggie smiled and continued to pray. She knew that with God, all things were possible. She prayed until the boulder moved completely out of her way. She knew that her faith had advanced that mountain.

Maggie went back down the mountain, feeling stronger than ever before. She knew that God had heard her prayers and that He was working in her life. She continued to attend church and pray, not just for herself, but for others who were going through similar trials.

Months went by, and Maggie went back to the doctor for a check-up. To the doctor’s amazement, the cancer had disappeared. Maggie knew that it was her faith in Jesus Christ that had healed her.

Matthew 8:13 says, "Then Jesus said to the centurion, ‘Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.’ And his servant was healed at that moment." This verse reminds us that our faith can move mountains, just like the centurion’s faith healed his servant and Maggie’s faith healed her cancer.
