Title: The Importance of Obedience and Respect in God’s Plan
Introduction:
Hello boys and girls/ teens,
Do you know one thing that pleases God? It is obeying and respecting our parents. In today’s lesson, we will learn about why obedience and respect matter in God’s plan and what the Bible teaches about it.
Body:
1. What is Obedience?
Obedience means doing what your parents tell you to do. It is an act of honoring them and God. Jesus displayed obedience when he followed His Father’s will and died on the cross for our sins.
Bible verse: ” Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.”- Ephesians 6:1
2. Why should we obey our parents?
We should obey our parents because they are given to us by God. They take care of us, provide for us, and guide us on the right path. Obedience also brings blessings from God.
Bible verse: ” Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.”-Exodus 20:12
3. What is Respect?
Respect means treating others like how you would like to be treated. We should respect our parents, even if we don’t always agree with them. It is an act of love and kindness towards them.
Bible verse: ” Each of you must respect your mother and father, and you must obey my Sabbaths. I am the Lord your God.”- Leviticus 19:3
4. Why should we respect our parents?
We should respect our parents because they are our authority figure, and it is God’s command for us to do so. Respecting our parents shows that we value and appreciate them.
Bible verse: ” Children, it is your father’s command, yet love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.”-Deuteronomy 6:5
Conclusion:
In conclusion, obedience and respect to our parents are vital for our growth and understanding of God’s love. We should strive to obey and respect our parents because it pleases God and brings blessings into our lives. So my dear boys and girls/ teens let us make a commitment to obey and respect our parents from today and continue to do so in the future.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the institution of the family and the parents you have given us. Help us to obey and respect them with all of our hearts, knowing that it pleases you. Amen.
