As an Evangelical Christian, it is important to understand that God’s nature is one of love, grace, and mercy. While God does hate sin, He does not hate sinners. In fact, God loves sinners so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and offer us the gift of salvation.

The Bible tells us in John 3:16 that “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse clearly shows us that God’s primary motivation is love for humanity, even in our sinful state.

It is true that God hates sin because sin separates us from Him and goes against His perfect and holy nature. However, God’s hatred of sin is a reflection of His righteous character and desire for us to turn away from sin and turn towards Him. God desires for sinners to repent, seek forgiveness, and experience the freedom and restoration that comes from a relationship with Him.

Ultimately, God’s desire is for all to come to repentance and experience His love and grace. As Christians, we are called to share this message of hope and reconciliation with others, showing them that while God hates sin, He loves sinners and offers them the opportunity for forgiveness and new life in Him.
