As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly referred to as the Mormon church, my belief is that everyone will eventually be resurrected and receive a degree of glory in the afterlife. However, the extent of that glory will depend on how we lived our lives here on earth.
Mormons believe in three degrees of glory: the celestial, terrestrial, and telestial kingdoms. The celestial kingdom is the highest degree of glory, where those who have received the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and lived according to its teachings will reside. The terrestrial kingdom is for those who lived honorable lives but did not receive the fulness of the gospel. The telestial kingdom is for those who did not live according to the gospel and committed sins.
Furthermore, Mormons believe in the concept of agency, which means that we have the freedom to choose our actions. We believe that God will judge us based on our choices and actions in this life and that we will be held accountable for them. Therefore, it is up to us to strive to live according to God’s commandments and teachings in order to receive the highest degree of glory in the afterlife.
In conclusion, while Mormons believe that everyone will eventually be resurrected and receive some degree of glory in the afterlife, the extent of that glory will depend on our choices and actions in this life. It is up to us to strive to live according to God’s teachings in order to receive the highest degree of glory.
