a Genesis 4:1 poem

Cain and Abel, brothers two,
One a shepherd, one who grew.
Cain’s offering, wrath did spawn,
Jealousy grew ’til dawn.

God spoke to Cain, “Why so low?
If you do well, rewards will flow.
But sin crouches at your door,
Its desire is to make you poor.”

Cain ignored, to Abel’s field,
Killed him there, his blood did yield.
“Why ask?” said Cain, “Am I my brother’s guard?”
God’s judgement swift, his crime so hard.

Remember this, forevermore,
Cain’s choice was to ignore.
God’s love and warning, so sincere,
Repent and live, His grace is near.

a Genesis 4:1 limerick

a Genesis 4:1 rap

Verse 1:
Now Adam knew his wife and she bore a son
A man from God, he was the first one
Named him Cain, a farmer from the ground
He brought his fruits, an offering he found

Chorus:
The Lord looked upon his offering
But Cain’s heart, it wasn’t ringing
For Abel’s sacrifice was sweet
And Cain felt defeat

Verse 2:
Cain was angry, his face full of ire
God spoke to him, said “why are you dire?”
“If you do right, will you not be accepted?”
But Cain’s heart, it was neglected

Chorus:
The Lord looked upon his offering
But Cain’s heart, it wasn’t ringing
For Abel’s sacrifice was sweet
And Cain felt defeat

Verse 3:
Cain devised a plan, to kill his own kin
In the field, he struck Abel within
God said “where is your brother?”
“I don’t know” Cain said to cover

Chorus:
The Lord looked upon his offering
But Cain’s heart, it wasn’t ringing
For Abel’s sacrifice was sweet
And Cain felt defeat

Verse 4:
God knew what had been done
He said “you’ll be a wanderer, your life has just begun”
Cain cried out “my punishment is more than I can bear”
But God had mercy, put a mark so none would dare

Chorus:
The Lord looked upon his offering
But Cain’s heart, it wasn’t ringing
For Abel’s sacrifice was sweet
And Cain felt defeat

Outro:
We learn from Cain’s tale
To give with a heart that won’t fail
For God sees our offerings inside
And with love, we can abide.
